A couple of years ago I was privileged to draw caricatures as entertainment at the Wedding of Dee & Phil. Soon after, they contacted me again to create this Homage of their Harley Love. And recently, they contacted me again ( aren’t I lucky ) to draw Personality Portraits at yet another celebration. I had forgotten about this Harley drawing; and now that I have a blog this drawing can finally be available to the world to view. Keep on Haulin’, Dee & Phil
the American Idol judges have become Idols themselves
A slightly more satirical drawing than usual. I tried to emphasize the features and the character of these 4 people.
I don’t watch the show, so I had to rely on blogs and comments for my info. The blondish woman in the center is a little flaky, and acts like she drinks a bit, so I had her careening into the middle.
The new girl in back acts very sure of herself, hence the pointed finger and the raised fist. And she tries to show off more boob than the other one.
The guy on the left wears strange printed tees and necklaces and large watches and bracelets.
The guy on the right doesn’t seem to own any dress clothes, or he thinks he looks buff; whatever the reason he seems to always wear the same grey tee shirt, and it’s a v-neck ( are those back in style? )
Anyway, their faces are fairly bland, especially the new girl. No crazy hair-dos or anything shocking.
The most colorful elements on the set are the red Coke cups ( what’s that all about?? ) I guess the contestants must be more interesting than the judges; because apparently a lot of people watch the show.
Theresa celebrated her birthday this past Sunday with her family and friends at the Westchester Golf Club. Her Sign In Board was a portrait of her posing next to a family tree representing the seeds that grew her and the limbs and branches she helped to grow. The basic design was borrowed from the image of the Celtic Tree-of-Life, the large terra cotta pot inscribed with the names of her parents, and a Celtic band winding from left to right. The trunk was inscribed with her own information, and the 5 main branches represented her 5 sons, each festooned with a symbol of each of their professions; stethoscope, Bible, school notebook, ledger book, and psychology tome. The branches and leaves contained the names of the children and grandchildren. A leprechaun leans against the tree trunk, and the scene behind is a simple landscape of County Cooraclare, Ireland. Shamrocks are intertwined amongst the tree leaves.

I had the distinct pleasure yesterday of being invited to draw all of the guests of Ellie, a young artist celebrating her 7th birthday at her home. As a complete surprise to me, the pint-sized Picasso presented me with this likeness of myself, which she had drawn without my knowledge. Everyone I have shown it to agrees that Ellie captured my essence. I simply have to share it with the world.
Before I left the party, I photographed Ellie and her Godfather wearing their shirts.

Have you experienced downtown Yonkers, New York lately? Check out this classy mural down near the waterfront.
The view of the Hudson River is fabulous, also. Right next to the unusual restaurant, X2O.
Party Artist Philip Herman was at X2O last weekend drawing personality portraits of the guests. This first gentleman is a diamond grader, French, and an immaculate dresser.
The next woman is a MediaDiva ( patent and copyright pending )
This last sample is a romantic couple who wanted to be drawn crossing the 7 mile bridge in the Florida Keyes while dolphins and sea turtles frollicked.
